How to Clean a Whiteboard Calendar
Hooray! It’s the end of the month, which means it’s time to update your calendar. Or maybe life got busy, and you’re ready to get back into the habit of filling it out consistently. Either way, keeping your whiteboard clean is key to making it easy to use! If marks have been sitting for a while, you might worry about stains or that dreaded “ghosting” effect—but don’t stress! With a few simple cleaning habits, you can keep your board looking fresh, whether you’re wiping it down regularly or tackling stubborn, long-forgotten marks. We’ve got tried-and-true tips to make sure your calendar stays sparkling clean and ready for whatever’s next!
Everyday Cleaning: The Best Way to Clean a Whiteboard
Your Circle & Square calendar features a wet-erase surface, which means using the right markers and cleaning techniques is essential. For best results, we recommend using only our specially formulated chalkboard markers. Other markers may not erase properly, and we cannot guarantee they will work with our products.
Whether you have an acrylic calendar or a framed whiteboard calendar, following these tips will ensure your board stays beautifully clean and usable for a long time!
To clean your board: Use a paper towel with just a tiny bit of water to wipe away the writing. Be cautious with the amount of water used—our framed boards are not sealed, and excessive moisture can drip down, potentially damaging your board. Immediately dry the surface with a dry paper towel before writing again.
The reason we don't seal our framed boards? We know your style can change, so we made it as easy as possible to swap out the design inside!
Removing Stubborn Marks: How to Clean a White Board With Old Marker
Sometimes, wet-erase markers can leave behind faint stains, especially if the writing has been left on for an extended period. If you're having trouble with stubborn marks, try these steps: Dampen a paper towel with glass cleaner and gently wipe the affected area. (Do not spray the cleaner directly on the board!) If the stain persists, apply a small amount of isopropyl or high proof rubbing alcohol on a paper towel and rub lightly. For particularly tough stains, a lightly dampened Magic Eraser can work wonders—just be gentle to avoid unnecessary wear on the surface.
Bonus: How to Clean Sharpie Off a Whiteboard
If someone accidentally uses a Sharpie on your whiteboard, don’t worry—it’s easy to fix! Simply use a high proof rubbing alcohol pad or apply a small amount of isopropyl alcohol to a rag or paper towel and gently wipe the marks away. The alcohol breaks down the permanent ink, making it easy to remove without damaging the board. If any residue remains, repeat the process until the surface is completely clean.
