A Winter Bucket List for the Whole Family
Every year, the stark reality hits me: Christmas is at the very beginning of winter, which means after the twinkling lights and holiday fun is over, I still have two more months of bleak and cold weather to endure. Add to that the fact that January lasts approximately 67 days, and I start looking for easy ways to stay sane and be a fun mom.Â
Enter the Winter Bucket List!
We designed this 3-month family calendar with over 40 activity ideas for the entire family to enjoy! Use the three month calendar layout to plan out when you'll do each activity, and then check the box once it's completed!
A few favorite winter family activities:
Paper Crane Folding
When I tell you my husband is an expert at folding these, I'm not kidding. He can make them from the tiniest pieces of paper and frequently leaves them for me to find. Now you can make your own using this easy video! Â
 The Best Brownies Ever

I've tried many different homemade brownie recipes, but none of them come close to the Ghiradelli Triple Chocolate Brownie Mix. I know, box mix brownies might seem like cheating, but they are such a delicious way to whip up a tasty treat!Â
Here's how I make them:
1 box of your favorite brownie mix and all of the ingredients needed to make them (oil, eggs, water)
1-2 Hershey's Symphony Bars (depending on how big your pan is, you might need more)Â
Follow the directions on the box to make your brownie batter. Then, pour half of the brownie batter into your pan, and lay the unwrapped Symphony Bars on top until they're covering the entire layer of batter. Then, carefully spoon the rest of your batter over the top and smooth it out as best you can. Bake according to the package directions, and try your best to let them cool before digging in!Â
Holiday Simmer Pot

Have you hopped on the simmer pot train yet? While I do have a special place in my heart for Target's candle display, I am also super sensitive to fragrances and can't burn candles in my home. A simmer pot, however, is one of my favorite parts of the holiday season!Â
This one from Our Best Bites is my favorite - I love the combination of orange, cranberry and cinnamon! If you don't have pine sprigs, rosemary works in a pinch. The best part is that it you can use it for several days - just be sure to turn the stove off at night and keep an eye on the water levels.Â
