The Spring Bucket List

The Spring Bucket List

Spring is just around the corner and we have the perfect way to celebrate a new season blooming with possibilities.

The Spring Bucket List is a 3-month calendar with various activities the entire family can enjoy. Each activity has a fun doodle that can be colored in and a checkbox to mark when the activity has been completed! There are also blank lines where you can write in favorite spring activities for your family.

A Few Spring Activities We Are Loving:

Starting Seeds Indoors

Starting seeds indoors isn't nearly as intimidating as I thought it was! You can use a variety of containers—I've used plastic cups, plastic tubs from sour cream or yogurt, and egg cartons if you'd like to create an eco-friendly version.

You'll need some potting soil, your seeds of choice, and a little water. It is as simple as putting your seeds in the dirt, covering them with a little soil, and keeping everything moist while the seeds germinate.

Be sure to read the instructions on the seed packet as well, because some plants have specific germination requirements. Easy plants to start include zucchini, tomatoes, zinnias, and sunflowers. Check out the USDA's Plant Hardiness Zone map to determine which plants will grow best where you are!

Have a Tea Party

Tea parties are for everyone! Whether you want to dress fancy is up to you, but not many people will turn down tiny sandwiches, cookies, and snacks. If tea isn't your thing, we love serving lemonade or juice. You can look at your local thrift store for inexpensive cups and saucers- individuality is part of the charm!

As for what food to serve, any sandwich can be a tea sandwich if you cut the crusts off and cut it into 4 quarters. Or, use slider rolls for individual sandwiches! Along with classic sandwich pairings, we love a cucumber sandwich with whole wheat bread, cream cheese mixed with a little dried dill, and lemon juice, topped with thinly sliced cucumbers.

Paint Rocks and Flower Pots

Freshen up your garden space or windowsill with a fun painting activity! You can find inexpensive terra cotta pots at thrift stores, craft stores, or online. Use acrylic paints to create your masterpiece and then plant herbs or a favorite flower variety.

As for rock painting, just head outside and grab some rocks! We love looking for uniquely shaped ones as well as a variety of sizes to scatter throughout our garden box. If you don't want the mess of paintbrushes, acrylic paint pens are a little easier for little ones to use. Spray it with a clear finishing spray or cover it with Mod Podge to keep the paint from peeling. A few of our favorite things to paint are bugs, different types of food, or uplifting sayings! Check out our Pinterest board for more inspiration!

Use our Spring Bucket List to guide your family through a fun-filled season of exploration and creativity, and don’t forget to add your own favorite spring traditions to make it truly yours! Here’s to a season of new beginnings and endless possibilities. Happy spring!
